Chadd is a writer and actor with a background in… basketball.

He currently plays The Sorting Hat in Broadway's Harry Potter & The Cursed Child, and can be seen as Carl Harris in Hulu’s Wu Tang : An American Saga. 

A Texan turned New Yorker turned Angeleno, Chadd grew up an athlete and performer. As a child, he managed to do the Broadway Tour of Hal Prince's Show Boat while playing in the local basketball league during the summers.​ ​His passion for basketball furthered, and he eventually led his high school to a Texas State Championship. After prep school, Chadd played basketball at Rice University, and studied at NYU, receiving a degree in English Literature.

Chadd's works have been presented and he has performed with the Harlem Drama Studio, Off-Broadway, and more. His plays, To An Athlete Dying Young and Townsman of a Stiller Town have been named Semi-finalists to the Eugene O’Neill Playwriting Conference.
